Road Closures Planned to Support Marathon Safety

The annual Tallahassee Marathon will take place February 8, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The Tallahassee Police Department will be providing traffic control to make this a pleasurable event for all citizens to attend. Due to the size of the event, several streets and intersections will be closed during both the full and half marathon, which begin simultaneously. All motorists should be aware that runners have the right of way, and traffic will be held as runners cross intersections. TPD urges all citizens to review the marathon route to become familiar with the affected areas to avoid delays.

The following are temporary road closures from 6-9 a.m.:

• Monroe Street from Apalachee Parkway to Tennessee Street
• East Pensacola Street from Calhoun Street to Monroe Street
• Jefferson Street from Calhoun Street to Monroe Street
• College Avenue from Calhoun Street to Monroe Street
• Park Avenue from Calhoun Street to Monroe Street
• Call Street from Calhoun Street to Monroe Street

The following are temporary road closures from 7:30-8 a.m.:

• Tennessee Street from Monroe Street to Gadsden Street – No Traffic

The following are road closures for the entire duration of the marathon:

• Woodward Avenue from Gaines Street to St. Augustine Street (5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
• Madison Street from Woodward Avenue to Railroad Avenue (5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

The Marathon and Half Marathon routes begin on Monroe Street near the Leon County Courthouse and travel through downtown, Midtown, and surrounding neighborhoods, passing along Thomasville Road, Betton Hills, Cascades Park, Myers Park, Florida A&M University, and the Capital Cascades and Lake Elberta trail systems, among other areas, before finishing on Madison Street.

The full marathon also includes an extended out and back segment along the St. Marks Trail before rejoining the course to the finish.
